When Bardstown Elementary School in Bardstown, KY, was constructed, it needed a long-term outdoor site lighting solution as solid as the rock beneath it. With 30 new light poles to set, the team turned to Pole Base for clean and consistent light pole bases. THE CHALLENGE
The site was tough, featuring rocky ground conditions. The project also included a tight construction schedule and demanded precise placement of every pole. Traditional cast-in-place methods would have meant unpredictable delays and messy results.
THE SOLUTION
Pole Base precast concrete foundations, produced by Redi-Rock of K.I.T., offered an engineered, built-to-spec solution. Each base was manufactured in a controlled environment with 5,000 psi concrete, and each unit arrived on site ready to install. The pre-set rebar cage, conduit, and anchor bolts eliminated on-site guesswork, allowing for a seamless installation by Fayette Electric, the project’s electrical contractor, based out of Lexington, KY.

THE OUTCOME
Fayette Electric installed 30, round smooth, 24 in (609 mm) wide x 8 ft (2.4 m) tall bases on schedule, despite challenging subsurface conditions. With no delays from weather or curing times, they delivered a polished lighting foundation that met specs and elevated the parking lot and overall site’s appearance.
