"The biggest benefit is the finish. That's what stands out to most people. I don't have to babysit a cast-in-place base to make sure the final product looks right."
T.J. Mclean, G&G Electrical
THE CHALLENGE
North Augusta High School in South Carolina was building a new athletics facility that required lighting in the parking lot and walkway areas. The schedule was tight, and site lighting needed to be installed without weather delays or concrete truck hold-ups.
That’s when G&G Electrical turned to Georgia-Lina Precast, a trusted Pole Base producer. With two different light pole foundation specifications required, precast was the optimal choice to ensure bases would be delivered to spec and on time, installation would stay on track, and the team would keep the project moving.

THE SOLUTION
Unlike cast-in-place concrete bases, Pole Base precast bases arrive ready to set, saving time on-site and delivering a cleaner, more consistent look. Pole Base installation is simple and takes a fraction of the time compared to traditional cast-in-place bases. For G&G Electrical, this meant they could provide:
- 17 built-to-spec light pole bases
- Two different-sized bases, both sizes featuring the appropriate conduit, rebar, and anchor bolt specifications • 5 ft 6 in x 24 in (1.7 m x 609 mm) • 7 ft 6 in x 24 in (2.3 m x 609 mm)
- A sleek, aesthetic finish with the classic Round Smooth texture.

THE OUTCOME
After more than 30 years of installing cast-in-place foundations, G&G Electrical switched to precast—and they’re not looking back. With faster installs, cleaner results, and fewer job site delays, Pole Base has become their go-to solution for site lighting foundations that deliver both performance and appearance, so they can meet client expectations quickly and get moving to the next job.
Be like G&G Electrical and make the switch from cast-in-place to Pole Base, and you’ll be amazed at the time (and headaches) you can save.
