Safer Hotel Site Lighting in Florida with Precast Pole Bases

THE PROJECT

Building a new hotel comes with a unique challenge: making both the inside and outside comfortable, inviting, and safe. For the AC Hotel in downtown St. Augustine, Florida, the construction team needed site lighting solutions for sidewalk and parking lot areas to ensure guest and vehicle safety.

Deciding cast-in-place foundations just wouldn’t cut it in terms of long-term performance and aesthetics, the project team turned to their local Pole Base producer to supply the 20 units required for the site.

Florida Pole Base producer Truemont Materials provided custom precast concrete light pole bases for the project, working together with Norlee Group, the site’s electrical contractor, and Miller Drilling, the installer.

Project Specs:

• 20 custom-made light pole bases, installed in parking lot and walkway areas
• 24-inch diameter, 9 feet tall
• 36-inch height above grade
• 11-inch bolt circle
• Four 1-inch conduit penetrations positioned at 0°, 90°, 180°, and 270°
• Round-smooth finish providing a modern aesthetic appearance free of surface imperfections
