If I need a very specific bolt configuration, conduit layout, or dimensions for my light pole bases, can I get the exact base from you?

Absolutely. Every Pole Base product is made to order for that specific reason. Our network of Pole Base producers can build site lighting foundations with diameters of 12, 18, 24, or 30 inches and heights ranging from 3.5 feet for taxiway bases to 13 feet for light pole bases for various types of projects, such as streetscapes, parking lots, sports facilities, and more. Conduit templates and bolt patterns are built according to your specifications, so customization is always possible. Check out the technical resources page for typical details and drawings.

How heavy are these bases?

Pole Base products can range in length and diameter, so weight varies, too. Depending on your dimensions, your Pole Base precast foundations could range from 1,000 to 8,800 lb (453.6 to 3991.6 kg). Generally, bases with 18-in (457.2 mm) diameters range from 1,000 to 3,000 lb (453.6 to 1330.8 kg), bases with 24-in (609.5 mm) diameters range from 1,800 to 5,800 lb (816.5 - 2630.8 kg), and bases with 30-in (762 mm) diameters range from 2,800 to 8,800 lb (1270 - 3991.6 kg). What kinds of equipment could I use to inventory and install these bases?

You'll need a forked piece of equipment to offload your bases from the delivery truck to stage on your jobsite. From there, the Pole Base lifting plate makes it easy to install the bases with equipment such as a forklift, excavator, loader, skytrack, crane, or boom truck. What is the lead time on Pole Base products?

Pole Base products are built to your specifications, so lead time will vary from project to project. Typically for light pole bases, J-bolts are sent to the Pole Base production facilities from the electrical contractor, and the Pole Base team builds the bases according to the specification from there, which usually takes about two to four weeks. Your best bet is to reach out to your sales rep to get an idea about the timing for your request.

Do you have products other than light pole bases?

We sure do. Pole Base is a versatile product that can be used for precast foundations in a number of applications. In addition to light pole bases, Pole Base has already been used for sign foundations, gazebo and carport bases, even flagpoles and specialty pipe supports at breweries. Is a Pole Base Light Foundation a Better Choice than a Universal Base?

Pole Base light pole foundations and universal bases (occasionally called "pre-engineered") share similarities. Each provides a product that can be transported to your location and set up on the same day, allowing you to sidestep potential weather-related challenges and the inconvenience of coordinating a ready-mix truck delivery for pouring labor-intensive, time-consuming cast-in-place bases. How Does Pole Base Perform in High Winds?
